How I teach   JOHN  MARTIN  NEVILL   AVENUE  HOVE  EAST  SUSSEX  ENGLAND    http://www.ilearnguitar.yolasite.com

I am passionate about guitar playing and also the language of music!

When teaching students (of all ages) I have three basic aims for them to accomplish:
  1. To be able to read music
  2. Play really well by ear
  3. Not to form any 'bad habits' which could impair their technique  and development in future years.

Students having  a  lesson each week, will enable me to keep a careful eye on these three basic principles and of course more.

With practice, it will eventually lead the player to be a good musician, capable of reading music or playing an impromptu 'Jam' with other people solely by ear.

The studio.

The studio I teach in has a good array of guitars,
amps, music and recording equipment.

If it is more convenient for the student to travel without their guitar then an instrument can be supplied at no extra cost.

If any work needs doing to a pupils guitar (new strings, setting up the tuning etc.) it can be done by me at no extra cost and a free hire guitar will be supplied while the work is being carried out.

Teaching the 'person' and not having a set plan is the way I like to teach. So let me know the music you love, your dreams and aspirations for being a guitarist and I will hopefully incorporate it into your lessons.

Please go to the appropriate page and see details of the basic books required.
